Alternative Ghronicle. The Jurta Theatre, whose very existence is threatened, vdll continue to be a fórum fór independent movements. Its first guest on January 6th was the YDA, on the lOth a documentary called the Solzhenitsyn Gulag-Archipeligo which will be repeated on the 15th and 17th. On January l^th the Independent Lawyers Fórum will hold a conference and it will probably become a national social organisation. On the 20th the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Friendship Society will hold a memóriái evening, on the 21st,22nd and 23rd at 2 pm Judit Emberes film "Right of Asylum" which has benn banned until now will be shown in three parts. On January 22nd at 8 pm the theatre will present a commemoration entitled "In memóriám Imre Nagy". On the 2^th the Mindszenty programme which was first shown in November will be repeated. On the 25th seven independent publishers will organise a samizdat exhibition and hold discussions with the audience, at the same time the independent art group INCONNU will exhibit photographs and documents of the Afghan Soviet intervention. On the 29th the Free Democrats Alliance will continue its series entitled "Our Achievements", on the 31st the theatre will present the dramatized version of Orwell’s "Animál Farm". At the theatre it is possible to reserve fór 50 forints a publication entitled "Platform - Alternative Ghronicle" which will come out at the end of the month. The Jurta Theatre’s year book is illustrated with photographs, is 160 pages long and will give an account of the theatre’s programmes in 88. On the cover Parliament appears opposite the theatre; ten independent organisations are helping to pút it together. The year book will contain a complete list of all those who made donations to the theatre. Subscribers can use or quote the Hungárián October newsletters in totál or in detaii as long as the source is acknowledged.
