In their message they stressed that Jaruselski’s dictatorship by failing to acheive social co-operation has nőt fulfilled its promises and has again prevented the possibil- ity of dialogue by responding to increasing dissatisfaction with violence. The message says that the Hungárián democratic groupings have watched the Polish stop- page of recent weeks and the Polish nation’s fight fór autonomy and fór the protec- tion of interests with anxiety and sympathy. Our common endeavour serves to create a free and independent community of European states and to restore humán and polit- ical rights to those nations living here. "In this struggle - as in the pást - Hungárián friends can be counted upon. The cementing force of solidarity between our nations binds us" - finishes the Hungárián Democratic Opposition message which was signed by Péter Grawátsch, Tamás Mikes, Tamás Molnár, Jenő Nagy and Tibor Philipp. One Hungárián Democratic Opposition group sent an additional letter to the Czech- Polish Solidarity Committee based in Wroclaw and Prague, which regularly publishes an information bulletin. The six signatories - Géza Buda, Tibor Fényi, Mihály Horváth, Tamás Mikes, Tamás Molnár and Antal Vásárhelyi - proposed that the existing committee expands intő a common solidarity committee fór three countries - Czech- oslovakia, Poland and Hungary. "With the means at our disposal - says the letter- we wish to populárisé the notion that Central European nations are dependent on one another and are in solidarity so as to democratise the region." In London on Friday afternoon a protest was organised in front of the Polish Embassy by a young workers party group from the "Solidarity Caapaign Fór Eastem Europe" movement. Besides the placards saying "Down with Bureaucratic Power, Long Live Workers Power!", "Police Out Of Factories!" and other such slogans represent- atives of the Hungárián October Information eentre held a tricolour Hungárián flag and a banner saying "Hungarian-Polish Friendshipi" Jf Subscribers can use or quote the Hungárián October newsletters in totál or in detail as long as the source is acknowledged.
