The rádió programme "l68 Hours" interviewed- independent ecologists bút it was nőt •broadcast. The television reported that at the statutory meeting a minority who have been trying to form a unión fór years alsó appeared bút that their proposals were - allegedly - rejected.

The Eötvös Loránd University Ecology Club made a statement about the events which is as follous:

"The Eötvös Loránd University Ecology Club thinks that the unión’s mode of operation is anti-democratic and contrary to its declared aims. The Club objects to the fact that national environmentalist groups could nőt take part in the drafting of the constitution plán. The conditions in which the Environmentalist Union was formed are nőt representative of Hungárián environmental movements and groups therefore the Club protests against the use of the name Hungárián Environmentalist Union".
