He lives at no. 9-11 Balassi Bálint Street, Budapest V. - a translator of Czech and Slovak literary works - and was taken in because Czech books and periodicals published by Western emigrés were found on him during the customs inspection. He vas interrogated fór five hours about his connections with Czech opposition people and then forced to retum to Budapest. According to the Charter 77 report György Varga has been harassed and repeatedly questioned by the Hungárián State Security Agencies since his retum.
