III We call upon the humán rights and charitable organisations functioning in Western democracies, foreign churches and emigré societies to help the Transylvanian ref- ugees financially and spiritually. To coordinate their efforts. To inform people of the tragedy in Transylvania, To inform the refugees, the Hungarians and possibly the Románián public. To endeavour to prompt the Hungárián govemement to readopt those Transylvanian Hungarians vho, despite their intention moved to the West,though would nave liked to have stayed in Hungary. We ask emigrés ta help defecting Transylvanians retain their Hungárián consciousness. IV We call upon Western democratic governments to treat the Románián refugees knocking on their doors generously. We are nőt biased in asking fór special attention to be paid to the national minority Hungarians - their long sufferings are recommendation enough. Finally we ask all good-willed people to welcome our fellow creatures, the Hungárián and Románián refugees. Budapest, 29th January, 1988.
