Kratti 84/1987/E/ 26th June, 1987 The American Senate Passed the Bili to Suspend ílumania's Duty Oonscess'ion' fo'r Six Months According to the report of the "Hungárián Humán Right Foundation" /New York/ the United States Senate carried the motion of the six-month suspension of Rumania's "most favourahle nation terms" with a margin of 57:36, after a 2 and a half hour dehate. Recovery of the suspended duty conscession depends upon certain conditions including the demonstrahle improvement of the condition of the -^ungarian ethnic minőrity living in Rumania. As it is well-known the congress had already passed the hill with a margin of 232:183 to suspend fór six months Rumania's "most favourahle nation terms" on similar conditions of recovery, on the 3oth of April. The congress' decision is part of the national trade hill and will come intő force - prohahly this summer - if the president of the United States does nőt vető the hill hűt appends it with his signature. According to the estimate given hy the ministry of commerce the forfeiture of duty conscession could mean a yearly loss of 3oo millión dollars to Rumania. JH-
