The police arrived in the home of Jenő Hagy at 1130 am and searched the fiat till 3 pm. Jenő Hagy, the organiser of the ABC Independent Publishing House has been ceaselessly harassed fór over a year and has been fined heavily several times. The police searched the home of Ottilia Solt, the organiser of the Pund fór the Poor and ohe of the editors of the samizdat Journal Beszélő, between 1145 to 1545. The search in the home of György Gadó, one of the contributors of the samizdat Journals A Hirmondó and Demokrata, lasted from 1300 to 1630 pm. All three searches were deseribed as "premise check" in keeping with the practice of pást years. The ordering and the carrying out of these checks, as well as the handling of possible complaints about them, exclusively belong in the area of competence of the police. During the search large amounts of publications appearing illegally have been seized together with manuseripts and personal notes. In the fiat of Ottilia Solt nearly 1,000 publications have been confiscated worth about 100,000 forints /appr. / 2000/. On the basis of the legal treatment so far it may be assumed that heavy sentences will be imposed on Gadó, Hagy and Solt. The last time Jenő Hagy was fined was on the 25th of Pebruary this year; then the fine was 10,000 Pt /more than 2 months salary of a worker/. Jn. Tibor Philipp whose home was searched on the 18th of January has been summoned to appear fór interrogation at 9 am today at the Budapest Pifth District Police Station. The summons was served at 7 am this morning despite the fact that according to the relevant regulation the person to be interrogated must be notified eight days in advance. ________________________±____________________________________ _________
