Notwithstanding this, the means of organization currently being practised has proved successful, for in this way, the entire countryside is taken in. From other information sources it has been reported that the greatest success of the retreat-house is to be seen in the effect which the retreats have on the participants. There is a good atmosphere among the participants, they take an active part in the organization and celebration of the masses, devotions and prayers. Younger participants are seldom to be found in the groups and only once up to now did a special youth group have to be formed. This is all the more regrettable and not realiy understandable either since the dioceses actually organise retreats and days of meditation specially suited to young people; they are even offered the possibility of taking part in a retreat in convalescence homes for priests. - Nor have the base groups taken much advantage of the possibilities offered to them in the retreats. In any case, one thing is evident from the experiences gathered up to now: Hungary's sole house of retreat may not satisfy the needs and demands of all Catholics through out the land. However, the experiences gathered by the St. Gellert House of Retreat and Study are best suited to prove useful to future initiatives.
