The XXVII. Act of 1924 was required to set up these institutes. The first meeting of the Teachers’ Training Institute was held in 1925 in Debrecen. The first president was called Károly Papp, whose work was helped by a 6-member director’s council. The number of presidency was more enlarged later. The teachers’ training council had the right to say in the questions being in connection with the students practical training such as : visiting classes of the teacher trainees, arranging of the practice and designating the supervising teachers. Besides the university lectures, the teacher- trainees had to register for courses of the Teachers’ Training Institute and had to fulfil the prescribed requirements, too. The institute would have liked to achieve that the tranees could get a useful, practical and theoretical knowledge at the same time during the five univeresity years. According to the documents its aim could not been accomplished totally. The Institute was closed down in 1949 and its tasks were passed over the new-established Eduational Department of Dean’s Offices.
