92 Nagy Sándor: A Hajdúkerületi Törvényszék büntető ítéletei... In those cases where an appellate judgement has already been passed by the Royal Court of Appeals, a further appeal could be submitted to the Septemvirate, the Supreme Court of Justice of Seven Judges. In this given case the Septemvirate reviewed 171 judgements, which cases had a total of 333 accused involved. 146 judgements (with 287 accused) were allowed to stand as justified, in 5 cases (9 accused) the penalties were increased, while in 14 cases (31 accused) decreased, 3 accused, each in a different case, were acquitted, while in another 3 cases (3 accused) the outcome of the procedure could not be established. On the basis of the figures of the appellate procedures the consequence can be drawn that the judgements of the Hajdú District Court of Justice complied with the legal requirements in all aspects.
