created. In 1950, it was attached to Hajdú-Bihar County, then it was a part of the district of Polgár. The population dealt predominantly with agriculture, and during the years of collectivisation the Búzakalász and Rákóczi Cooperatives were established in the village. The most important public institutions and facilities necessary for providing the population with services were gradually established. In 1970 when the District of Polgár was disorganised, the village of Tiszagyu- laháza was attached to the town of Polgár, and for the next 20 years a town council clerk was responsible for the management of the affairs of the village. After the political changes in 1991 the village regained its independence with a democratically elected local government and a district notary they share with the village of Folyás.
