Tanulmányok - Ölveti Gábor: Thököly hadakozása Debrecennel

Following the outbreak of the kuruc insurrection, Thököly’s luck was on the upswing. As a direct consequence of his military successes, the sultan ordered him to be proclaimed the king of Upper- Hungary in September 1682. From this point on, the content of the relationship between the new ruler and the town of Debrecen was transformed and, instead of the safety of the town, the key motive in it became the purpose of maintaining free trade with the upper northern part of the country. 54 Olveti Gábor: Thököly hadakozása Debrecennel
