also meant an extension of the main line from the Nagyerdő baths to the clinics. Next, the construction of the line to Hajdúsámson and Nyírbátor took place, and the so-called Debrecen-Nyírbátor Local Transit Railroad was established.

Also of great significance was the transformation of the municipal railroad system to electric operation, which coincided with the construction of the Csapó Street sideline, that reached as far as the recently completed public cemetery.

The damage and destruction suffered during WWII was soon fixed by the city, yet, the socialist state government, following the 1950 nationalization process, decided to discontinue the operation of the electric railroad sidelines.
