could possibly be illustrated most plastically through an introduction of the evolution of constitutionality and legal institutions. This latter standpoint of the author provided an opportunity for him to devote a detailed analysis to the questions of the legal history of institutions of the period and to deal with the evolving theoretical dogmatic discourses, since the 1861 events also signify the survival of the institutions and principles established in 1848.

The author believes that both the professional researchers and the average readers will find this new chapter of Debrecen’s local history beneficial to read.
