Zoltai Lajos munkáiból - Zoltai Lajos: Nagy főbírók és más jeles emberek debreceni házai; A Komáromy-ház története; A legrégibb debreceni ház története. Közli: Radics Kálmán
314 Zoltai Lajos munkáiból ben tömegesen heverő gazdátlan márványsírköveknek egy darabjára: "E házban élt Kölcsey Ferenc nemzeti Himnuszunk szerzője debreceni diákkorában 1800-1809 között." Debrecen had royal privileges for surrounding itself by stonewalls and bastions. The town never took this opportunity in spite of that the news of its enrichment induced the people hungry for plunder to come often here. Citizens of Debrecen didn't endeavour to constancy and the larger security, and they took even less care of tidiness and artistic quality; however their enemy more dangerous than the Turkish, the Tartar, the pro-Austrian soldiers and the Kuruts soldiers was fire that consumed their homes innumerable times. The citizens of Debrecen had only wood, clay mud and reed and such materials were hardly suitable for building permanent houses of artistic quality. Until the latest period of time Debrecen resembled rather a big village than a town. Its buildings and houses weren't made notable and famous by the builder contractors but by the history itself. Some names of the list of guests: King János Szapolyai, Swedish King Charles the Twelfth, Reigning Prince Apaffi, the Kuruts leaders, János Pálffy Imperial Commander-In-Chief, national dignitaries travelling to the funeral of Count Sándor Károlyi, members of the Royal House of Hapsburg. The names of 53 chief justices are known from the middle of the sixteenth century to 1848 when the ancient office of chief justice was wounded up. The place of the houses of forty of them was tracked down by Zoltai, among others the houses of the following families: the Duskás, the Dobozy, the Domokos and the of houses of Mihály Vígkedvű and György Csipkés Komáromy. From the houses of more famous people we can read about the houses of Sámuel Diószegi, János Pósalaky, Boldizsár Bartha, Péter Juhász Méliusz, György MartonÉs illendő ünnepélyesség mellett megjelöljék véle a Kollégium tövében álló egykori Kölcsey-házat...!
