288 Debrecen országgyűlési képviselői II. A Független Magyar Demokrata Pártra szavazott: 28 378 fő (12.076 férfi, 16.302 nő.) Képviselői: Kovács Imre és dr. Lévay Zol­tán. A Polgári Demokrata Pártra szavazott : 2406 fő (1010 férfi, 1396 nő). Mandátuma nincs.55 PcM iamen+Qp'y representatives o( Debrecen II ^litván (fajday After the parliamentary election of 1910 the fight for universal and secret suffrage became intensive. The Act XIV of 1913 re­composed the former conditions of election. The election that was expected in 1915 wasn't take place because of the war. The Act XVII of 1918 enlarged the number of electors by one and a half million ac­cording to the political relations changed. On 23rd of November, 1918 the first people's law was issued and the universal and secret suffrage was introduced by it in Hungary. Then the author takes the consecu­tive elections one by one. It starts with the council election of 8th of April, 1919 realizing the Soviet model. The National Assembly elected on 25th of January 1920 took the first steps in restoring the bourgeois society. Points of time of elections: 28th of May - 11th of June, 1922; 14th-15th of December, 1926; 28th-30th of June, 1931; 31st of March - 7th of April, 1935; 28,h-29th of May, 1939; 13th-20th of De­cember, 1944; 4th of November, 1945; 31st of August, 1947. After coming the communists to power: 15th of May, 1945; 17th of May, 1953; 16th of November, 1958.
