Election of Councils in Hajdú County and Debrecen, in 1919 April Gellér Ferencné When studying the history of the Hungarian Soviet Republic, the social basis of the rule of the proletariat in the various counties and regions is important to take into consideration. Some contribution is made to the history of the local councils by analyzing the election in Hajdú county and in Debrecen, according to the available data. In the paper the activity of local press and the election committees providing the propaganda and the ideological and technical conditions and the interpretation of universal suffrage are discussed. The history of the election is shown as it was reflected in the press. The result of the local elections is evaluated by the estimation of the number of people having the right to vote, and the economic, social and the political situation of the county is analyzed. The social composition of the local councils was studied only in the councils and executive committees and directories of the county and Debrecen as well as Hajdúszoboszló, due to sporadic data. The significance of the election of the councils is summed up by drawing up theoretical issues concerning the election and the composition of the councils. Выборы в области Хайду и Дебрецене, обработанные по имеющимся в распоряжении источникам служат данными для знаний истории местных советов. Статья подробно занимается подготовительной работой, обеспечивающей условия пропаганды, идеологии и техники местной печати и избирательной комиссии, а также толкованием избирательного права. Хронику выборов она цитирует вместе с настроением выбора и отзвуком печати. Оценка результата выборов в местные советы ведется приблизительным определением числа имеющих действительное избирательное право из-за социального положения и анализом экономического, общественного и политического отношения области. Конкретное изучение социального состава местных советов — из-за малого числа данных — ограничилось лишь составом советов, комитетов по административным делам, директорий комитата и городов Дебрецен и Хайдусобосло. Значение выборов в месные советы суммируется формулированием общедействительных принципиальных вопросов, касающихся выборов и состава советов. 85
