András Béres: The Pasture Management by Debrecen at the Early 19th Century on the Hortobágy It was a deep concers of Debrecen to find secure grazing-grounds to her live-stock at the beginning of the 19th century, and to put the Puszta in order. There were numerous plans and arrangements to promote the management of pasture ot the Hortobágy. Equally serious problems were caused by the introduction of several new inventions brought into animal-keeping, and the realization of the ideas of the reform-era. Perhaps the most exciting phase in the history of pasturing was the first half of the 19th century, when the already confirmed unwritten laws of animal-keeping had to be opposed to strict regulations. This time we studied only the branches of pasture arrangement, and having given a historical survey, the essay gives a detailed description of the divisions of grazing grounds, the coming and going of animals, with separate chapters analysing the herd and stud farming, the circumstances of herd and swine breeding. We can also find data about the animal trade, and the constant fight of citizens against the yearly drought. A recurrent problem has been the providing of herds, studs, sheep and swine with ample pasture, the solving of sanitary difficulties, the hiring of herdsmen, the complience with regulations, the boring of wells and maintaining public security, the clashes with the people of the neighbouring towns, and last but not least the utilization of the pastures about which we can find a large number of council decisions from the middle of the 17th century to the middle of the 19th century. Eventually, the setting up of the animal breeding comittees, then the foundation of the Hortobágy Executive Comittee brought order into the activity of the farming communities. Андраш БЕРЕШ Пастбищное хозяйство города Дебрецен на степи Хортобади в начале XIX-ого века В начале XIX-ого века содержание многочисленных животных и обеспечение порядка на пастбищах означали для города Дебрецен большую и многократную заботу. Создались бесчисленные распоряжения и проекты, чтобы способствовать пастбищному хозяйтву города на Хортобади. Не маленькой заботой было освоение многих новых моментов в животноводстве, осуществление идей эпохи реформ (1825—1848). Почти самое волнующее время пастбищного хозяйства на Хортобади — первая половина XIX-ого века, когда уже своздался крепкий вид и животноводство определилось закоснелым обычным правом, против которого надо было принимать строгие меры. В этой же статье рассматриваются лишь отрасли пастбищного хозяйства. После исторического осмотра статья говорит подробно о распределении пастбищ, он переходе животных, анализирует в отдельных главах содержание стад и табунов, положеие поголовья овец и свиней, отрасли пастбищного хозяйства. Можно найти данные о торговле животными и о постоянной борьбе, которую вели животноводческие горожанщаепротив засухи, прибывающей из года в год. И после нескольких попыток остались возвращающимися проблемами обеспечение пастбища для табунов, стад рогатого скота, овец и свиней, решение гигиенических вопросов, наём пастухов, соблюдение порядка на пастбищах, бурение колодцев, сохранение общественной безопасности, столкновения с жителями окружающих городов и сёл и вообще ис- ползование пастбищ города. На это указывают бесчисленные решения городског о совета с середины. XVII-oro столетия до середины XIX-ого века. В конце концов созданием комитетов по животноводству, потом Хортобадьского управляющего комитета удалось согласовать деятельность обществ хозяев. 190
