to the wilderness, how could he survive the hardships of nature? Who were his parents? Who found him, when and where? Why was the baptism conditional? Was he indeed retarded? Who was the baptising priest, and who were the godparents? How long did he live in the town? How did he find his feet in local society? Which main notions were formed about him after that the public came to know of the mysterious kid? There are not enough trustful written sources which would enable us to solve undoubtedly the questions concerning Istók Hány, since the data of the parish registers themselves are also controversial, but they are sufficient enough to get rid of some obvious errors.
