Szabó János szerk.: Fragmenta Mineralogica Et Palaentologica 24-25. 2007. (Budapest, 2007)
Description — Small species with moderately high spire. Protoconch not preserved, teleoconch whorls convex, angular at midwhorl; second angulation on base feebly appearing. Strong, opisthocline ribs present on all preserved whorls, except last one. Spiral striae onset below midwhorl from penultimate whorl. Remarks — The shape and sculpture of Pietteia sp. is similar to those of Pietteia sadharaensis n. sp. (see above). However, this specimen must be distinguished because of the almost double adult height and the more slender shells of Pietteia sadharaensis n. sp. Distribution in Kachchh — Chari Formation (Callovian to Oxfordian), Habo Dome. Subclass Euthyneura SPENGEL, 1881 Order Opisthobranchia MILNE EDWARDS, 1848 Superfamily Actaeonelloidea ZlLCH, 1959 Family Cyhndrobullinidae WENZ, 1947 Genus Trochactaeonina MEEK, 1863 Trochactaeonina ventricosa (D'ORBIGNY, 1852) (Plate I: 10-16) 1852: Acteonina ventricosa D'ORBIGNY — p. 178, pi. 288, figs 7-8. 1997: Trochactaeonina ventricosa (D'ORBIGNY, 1852) — FISCHER & WF.BER, p. 68. Material — I ight, more or less broken and deformed specimens. Measurements BHU2001I 61 BHU2001I 61A BHU2001I 62 H 11.5* HL 9.8 8.5 HP 9.2* D a* I I WP AA AL 145°* 145°* 137° 137° Description — Coniform shells, consisting of wide angle (low) spiral side and high conical base; spire composed of narrow but high whorls. Spiral surface of whorls slightly convex in juvenile stage but flat, then feebly concave subsequently. Subsutural zone remains spirally swollen; suture itself narrowly canaliculate. Periphery strongly rounded angular. Upper (adapical) part of base feebly, central part strongly convex, respectively. Narrow umbilicus opens at axial part of inner lip. Aperture elongate and tangential to base; outer lip not observable. Inner lip appears as thin, smooth callosity on parietal region, and as short, sharp edge, columellar lip reflecting over umbilicus. Some specimens seem cryptomphalous or anomphalous (possibly because of poor preservation). Growth lines strongly prosocline and slightly sigmoidal on whorls but orthocline and feebly prosocyrt on base. No other ornament observed. Remarks — The specimens in Plate I: 11—14 well correspond D'ORBIGNY's description and figures, however, the specimen in Plate I: 15—16 has somewhat different ratios, it seems more slender than the other specimens. Unformnately, there are insufficient data about the variability of Trochactaeonina ventricosa therefore we regard all the specimens conspecific (perhaps temporarily). In the type locality (France, Calvados, Villerville), Trochactaeonina ventricosa (D'ORBIGNY, 1852) is Kimmeridgian. Distribution in Kachchh — Bela Island, Chari Formation, Callovian. Suborder Pleurocoela THIELE, 1926 Superfamily Ringiculoidea PHILIPPI, 1853 Family Ringiculidae PHILIPPI, 1853 Genus Ringicula DESHAYFS, 1838 Ringicula ? sp. (Plate I: 17-18) Material — A deformed (flattened) specimen with shell fragments. Measurements H HL BHU2001I25 16.0 13.0 Description — Turbiniform specimen with few convex whorls. Spire low, whorls separated by impressed suture. Aperture ellipsoidal, its longer axis runs from foot of columella to outer, not distinct edge of subsutural ramp. Peristome encircles aperture with equally thickened rim in HP D WP AA AL 11.0 11.5 8.0 its lull length. Narrow furrow separates parietal Hp from base; furrow joins false(?) umbilicus at central part of base. Remarks — The poor preservation of the species does not make a more accurate identification possible.
