FRAGMENTA PALAEONTOLOGICA HUNGARICA 24-25, BUDAPEST, 2007 Contributions to the Jurassic of Kachchh, western India. The gastropod fauna. Part III: further Caenogastropoda and Opisthobranchia by Anand Kumar JAITLY & János SZABÓ Abstract — Fight further species are added to the faunal list of the Jurassic gastropods from localities of Kachchh. Two of them are new: Pietteia sadharaensis n. sp. (Aporrhaidae) and an early (Bathonian) representative of a nerineid genus: Turbinea khadirensis n. sp. (Nerineidae). Keywords — Gastropoda, Jurassic, Kachchh, India. JAITLY, A. K. & SZABÓ, J.: Contributions to the Jurassic of Kachchh, western India. The gastropod fauna. Introduction This paper is continuation of a scries, aiming to publish Jurassic gastropod faunas found in localities of Kachchh (westernmost part of India) and stored in the Palaeontological Collection of the Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi). Some paper have already provided data about the systematic composition of the fauna H APTLY et al. 2000, JAITLY & SZABÓ 2002, SZABÓ &JAITLY 2004), but the knowledge of the available gastropods has not yet been completed. Brief information about the geological setting of the localities has been provided in JAITLY et al. (2000). Another team has also worked on gastropods from the same area [DAS et al. 1999 (Calcutta)]. A joint faunal list has been added by SZABÓ & JAITLY (2004). Systematics Abbreviations to measurements — H = total height; HL = height of last whorl; HP = height of peristome; D = diameter of last whorl; WP = width of peristome; AA = apical angle; AL = coiling angle of last whorl (if different from apical angle). Asterisks indicate reconstructed measurements taken on more (**) or less (*) damaged shell parts. Apex blunt because of large, dome-shaped protoconch. Midwhorl angulation develops on last protoconch volution and present up to adult peristome. Single keel reinforces angulation. Periodically (180°) repeating hollow spines sit on midwhorl carina from fourth whorl, corresponding to first post-protoconch coil. Peristome preserved without outer lip. Columellar lip also broken but remnants indicative of second hollow spine in siphonal canal position. Columella itself strong and covered, as well as parietal region, with thin, narrow callosity of inner lip. Protoconch poorly preserved but surely belongs to bicarinate, dome shaped type of Aporrhaidae. Collabral ornament appears in form of dense, suture to suture rib-
