In die Carpathian Basin and in Central Europe there are few data of hypsodont Cricetodontini from the faunas of the MN7/8 and MN9 zones. 2 is greater than the corresponding measurement of nearly all published Cricetodon, Hispanomys and By^antinia species (Figures 1, 2, 3). 4. Reduction of the transversal ridges, the disappearance of the "funell structure", development of a complete ectoloph in the upper molars and the consistent presence T of metalophulid I and II in the lower Mi molars.
