the brachial valve, the height of the arch is nearly equal to the thickness of specimen. The anterior commissure is uniplicate. The height of plica is 4/5 of the total thickness while the width of plica is about half of the total width. The fold develops at half of the length on the pedicle valve but it is unobservable on the brachial valve. There are some growth lines on the shell surface. Internal characters: There were no adequate specimens available for serial sectioning due to the paucity of the material. Remarks: Liospiriferina sicula is similar to L. obtusa but it differs by its significantly greater size and strongly arched lateral margins. On De Gregorio's (1930) figure the beak is large and the ventral interarea is relatively high, therefore his identification is regarded as uncertain. Distribution: According to Aimeras (1964), L. sicula is Middle Sinemurian to Pliensbachian in age. Vörös (1982) reported the species from the Ibex to Margaritatus Zones of the Pliensbachian in the Bakony Mountains. The specimens of Lókút Hill are of Early Sinemurian age, thus extending the global range of this species. It was reported from the Eastern Alps (Vilser Alps), Sicily (Erice, Trapani) and the Bakony Mountains. Liospiriferina acuta (STUR in GEYER, 1889) (Pl. III, Fig. 3; Text-fig. 18) 1889 Spiriferina acuta n.sp. - Stur in Geyer: p. 77, pl. 9, fig. 6. 1937 Spiriferina acuta STUR - Ormós: p. 17, pl. 1, fig. 1. Material: 1 incomplete and 1 fragmentary specimen. Dimensions (mm): Specimen M.91.17. (Text-fig. 18) length: 12.2, width: 12.4, thickness: 9.4. Description - External characters: Small shell, subtriangular in outline. The antero-lateral corners are quite rounded. The angle between the lateral margins is about 115°. The Text-fig. 18 - Drawing of measured length is nearly equal to the width at Liospiriferina acuta the described specimen but as it is an incomplete specimen, the total width is probably significantly greater than the length. The thickness is 4/5 of the length. Biconvex form, the pedicle valve is more convex than the brachial one. The maximum width is situated at about half of the length while the maximum convexity is at the anterior third. The beak is small and quite curved. The ventral interarea is not wide, but relatively high. The umbo of brachial valve is probably small, its preservation is poor. The lateral commissures cannot be seen on the examined specimen. The anterior commissure is uniplicate. The width of plica is two-thirds of the total width while the height of plica is half of the thickness. The plica is V-shaped in cross-section with slightly arched sides. The fold develops at two-thirds of the length on the pedicle valve and at half of the
