made on the basis of the curvature of beak and the concavity of interarea. L. obtusa is similar to L. alpina, differing by the presence of a longitudinal fold on the pedicle valve. L. obtusa is somewhat similar to L. acuta and L. sicula. However, L. sicula is significantly larger and its beak is less curved. The outline of L. acuta differs from that of L. obtusa (the length and the width are nearly equivalent), the beak of L. acuta is smaller and it is far from the umbo of brachial valve. The fold of L. acuta is less arched, it is rather V-shaped in cross-section. I separated L. aff. obtusa in the material of Lókút Hill. This form differs from L. obtusa in outline, in the angle between the lateral margins and in the relative position of the two umbones. In my opinion Parona (1893) and Sacchi Vialli and Cantaluppi (1967) described this form as S. obtusa. Especially Parona's figure (1893, fig. 12a) is very similar to this form. Distribution: According to Aimeras (1964), L. obtusa is Sinemurian in age, its occurrence in the Pliensbachian is uncertain. Liospiriferina cf. obtusa was mentioned by Vörös (1982) from the Upper Sinemurian to the Lower Pliensbachian Ibex Zone of the Bakony Mountains. The species was reported from the Eastern Alps (Hierlatz), the Southern Alps (South Tyrol, Sospirolo), the Northern Appennines (Monte Pisano), the Central Appennines, the Gerecse Mountains and the Bakony Mountains. Liospiriferina aff. obtusa (OPPEL, 1861) (Pl. II, Fig. 6; Text-fig. 15) 1893 Spiriferina obtusa OPPEL - Parona: p. 23, pl. 1, fig. 12. 1967 Spiriferina obtusa OPPEL - Sacchi Vialli and Cantaluppi: p. 89, pi. 13, fig. 8. Material: 8 incomplete specimens. Dimensions (mm): Specimen M.91.14. (Text-fig. 15) length: 12.0, width: 14.1, thickness: 10.0. Description - External characters: Small to medium-sized shell, subrectangular in outline. The outline is quite rounded at the lateral margins while it is nearly straight at the anterior margin. The posterior margin is also nearly straight and the umbo ^^N. rVS hardly rises above the margin. The angle Ç ) \ V between the lateral margins is about 165°. V_—\s The width is greater than the length while the thickness is 5/6 of the length. Biconvex form, both valves are quite convex but the brachial valve is less convex. The maximum width is situated at half of the length, the maximum convexity is at the umbones. The umbo of the brachial valve is very small, the beak of pedicle valve is only slightly larger. The beak is curved, the interarea is small and low. The lateral commissures are slightly arched towards the pedicle valve. The edges of commissures are sharp. The anterior commissure is uniplicate. The height of plica is smaller than half of Text-fig. 15 - Drawing of Liospiriferina aff. obtusa
