Hungarian Geological Institute there is another material containing finds of similar condition but it is clearly separated from the previous ones. Its locality is Kőszeg, Veresföld Quarry. The finds being in the Geological and Palaeontological Department of the Museum of Natural Sciences (Term. Tud. Múzeum) have the following location: Szaybold(i) (of Szaybold or at Szaybold) quarry, while the finds of the Savaria Museum of Szombathely are known as derived from the Seybold Hill. The results of the above review as well as my field survey satisfied me that the finds which I am going to describe here derived from the micaceous filling of the fissure (or may be fissures) of the quarry of Seybold Hill at Kőszeg. In the Locality there were several sporadic assemblings and cullings made by different collectors, e.g. by Imre Maros in 1904, by Lajos Méhely and István Chernél in the 20 th of July in 1911 in 1932 by the Museum of Kőszeg and by Jenő Noszky in the summer of 1947. Further on I shall deal with the finds according to their arrangement in the collections and, if it possible, I try to harmonize them with the data of publications. The Finds a) The material published by Kormos in 1911. It is among the unregistered find s of the Palaeovertebrate Collection of the Hungarian Geological Institute (MÁFI) Tivadar Kormos published the fauna from Kőszeg in the 1911 year's number of"Centralblatt für Mineralogie, Geologie und Paläontologie" (pp. 300-303) issued at Stuttgart. The title of this publication is "Ueber eine arktische Säugetierfauna im Pleistocän Ungarns". The finds were collected by Imre Maros in 1904. Part of the remains available today can be identified with a part of the material of the Palaeovertebrate Collection of the Hungarian Geological Institute without Ob registration. Since the cards of the finds with Lajps Méhely's determination - also mentioned in Kormos' publication - are found in the collection. Moreover, except some lost specimens there is a clear coincidence between the anatomical parts and the data of the original publication. There is only one difference, namely, according to Kormos' publication the Evotomys collected by Imre Maros is represented by a single mandible while in the collection it is represented by not only a mandible but also by a maxillar fragment. In the following table at the left side there is the list published by Kormos while at the right side there are the revised names and the finds of the Palaeovertebrate Collection of the Hungarian Geological Institute which constituted the basis of the publication.
