Diameter: 0,53 mm Occurrence : Some specimens of this species occur in the G. pse­ udomenardii zone (sample no. 6) in the Taramsa section. Stratigraphie range: This species was first described by LOEB­LICH & TAPPAN (1957) from the Gulf and Atlantic Coastal Plain. They considered it to be of upper Landenian of Sparnacian age. EL NAGGAR (1966) recorded this species from the upper most part of G. velascoensis zone of the Esna - Idfu region, Nile Valley, Egypt, he considered it to be of upper Paleocene age. Description : Test medium, spiral side slightly convex, umbili­cal side strongly convex. Periphery lobulate with a keel. Umbi­licus open. Wall perforate, surface spinose, especially along the periphery. Occurrence : G. marginodentata appears at the top of the G. ve­ lascoensis zone. It floods the basal part of the Eocene limes­tone, together with G.aequa , characterizing the G. aequa / mar­ ginodentata zone of Ypresian age.
