In Trinidad, BOLLI (1957) described this species from the G. trinidadensis zone to G. pusilla pusilla zone in the lower Li­zard Springs formation. LOEBLICH & TAPPAN (1957) have reported its occurrence in the Danian age of the Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain. G. compressa was also recorded from the upper Danian of south­ern Sweden (TR03LSEN, 1957) and (BERGGREN, 1962). Prom the up­per Danian at its type locality in Denmark (HOPKER, I960). In Italy BOLLI & CITA (i960) identified this species from the Paleocene of the Paderno d'Adda section of northern Italy. In Austria, HILLEBRANDT (1962) recorded this species from the Danian and lower Montian in the basin of Reichenhall and Salz­burg. In Egypt this species was found by SAID & SABRY (1964) from the Landenian of Gebel Aweina, Nile Valley. EL NAGGAR (1966) described this species from the upper Danian of the Esna-Idfu region.
