ANCIENT TIMES WOKEN TO A NEW AGE - ABOUT A MENTE FASTENER Summary Hungarian National Museum acquiered in 2011 an important colection of early modem Hungarian and Transylvanian silver and jewelleries. Once these objects belonged to the famous collection of Herzog Mór Lipót. A so called mente fastener made in the early 19th century has a very close resemblance to the piece, Miklós Jankovich wears on his portrait, painted by József Pesky in 1823. Article tries to prove the origin of the jewellery from the Herzog-collection. 97
