II. KÖZLEMÉNYEK - Ewa Letkiewicz: The Hungarian King's Daughter Kinga's 13th Century Jewel in Polish Collections

Under the influence of his wife, Duke Bolesfaw built monasteries for the Franciscans in Kalisz, Gniezno, Oborniki, Pyzdry and Srem. His mortal remains were buried in the Franciscan church in Krakow, of which he was a great benefactor. Kinga, probably soon after Bolestaw's death, on the 7th day of December 1279 left Krakow for Stary Sqcz, where she remained till the end of her life. In the year 1288 the Duchess joined the Poor Clare's Sisters' Convent. Leading ascetic life, based on Francis­can spirituality.
