Attagenus silvaticus is new to Ukraine as well. A checklist of the Dermestidae of Hungary (49 species) is presented. Keywords - Coleoptera, Dermestidae, checklist, Hungary, Ukraine. INTRODUCTION KUTHY (1897) in his volume on Coleoptera in the series Fauna Regni Hungáriáé mentioned 35 species of the family Dermestidae known to occur in Hungary, but some of his records refer to former Hungarian regions now belonging to Slovakia, the Ukraine, Romania and Croatia. Since then no comprehensive list of the Hungarian members of this family were published, although further records can be found scattered in a few papers (CSIKI 1906, JÁVOR 1969, KASZAB SC SZÉKESSY 1950, KALÍK 1950, 1951, 1952, MERKL 2006, MROCZKOWSKI 1960). In this paper an updated checklist of the 49 Hungarian species of the family Dermestidae is presented. Three species are recorded from the country for the first time. In the subsequent checklist species with no localities from present-day Hungary in KUTHY ( 1897), or not mentioned by him at all are followed by references. These are based on reliably identified specimens from Hungarian localities. Where no reference is given, KUTHY listed the species from localities
