Taxonomical notes Calopteryx vir go festiva (BRULLÉ, 1832) - Though earlier authors did not distingush subspecies of Calopteryx virgo from their Albanian material (BlLEK 1966, CAPRA 1945, FUDAKOWSKI 1930, PONGRÁCZ 1923, PUSCHING 1926), probably all data refer to the subspecies we found all over the country. Platycnemis pennipes nitidula (BRULLÉ, 1832) - BILEK (1966), FUDAKOWSKI (1930), PONGRÁCZ (1923), PUSCHING (1926) and SÉLYS-LONGCHAMPS & HAGEN (1850) mentioned only Platycnemis pennipes (PALLAS, 1771). Ischnura elegáns elegáns (VANDER LINDEN, 1820) - DUMONT et al. (1993) published numerous data on both the nominotypical subspecies and Ischnura elegáns ebneri SCHMIDT, 1938. The males of our series seem to belong to the nominotypical one. Gomphus vulgatissimus (LINNAEUS, 1758) - The record of KALKMAN (2000) refers to an observed imago and was published as G. vulgatissimus/ 'schneiden . Onychogomphus forcipatus forcipatus (LINNAEUS, 1758) - The data of BILEK (1966), FUDAKOWSKI (1930) and PUSCHING ( 1926) mention the taxa only as Onychogomphus forcipatus. The genus Cordulegaster SÉLYS-LONGCHAMPS, 1843 - There is certain evidence of Cordulegaster bidentata from Albania given by DUMONT et al. (1993) and BILEK ( 1966), the latter one has been checked by G.J. VAN PELT. Data of PONGRÁCZ (1923) and PUSCHNIG (1926) need a revision. Data of Cordulegaster pictus SÉLYS-LONGCHAMPS, 1854 from Albania (SÉLYS-LONGCHAMPS 1887) refer to C. bidentata according to BlLEK (1966), and to C. insignis charpentieri (KOLENATI, 1846) according to STEINMANN (1997), but in fact all refer to a single female of C. heros THEISCHINGER, 1979 in the MACLACHLAN collection housed in the Natural History Museum, London (G.J. VAN PELT, personal communication). This species would have been new to Albania, however details on the location are lacking, and it is uncertain whether the specimen was collected in a region of the present-day Albania. Cordulegaster bidentata (SÉLYS-LONGCHAMPS, 1843) - According to DUMONT et al. (1993), males of this species have rather extensive yellow abdominal markings, especially on segment 10. In the present material, most specimens have the abdominal markings as in the typical ones, but one male and two of the females have these markings more extensively than the regularly marked specimens. Unfortunately, these specimens are very teneral, and one has to be cautious to draw any conclusions. The specimens listed by DUMONT et al. (1993) all stemmed from the south-western part of the country, our material originates from more land-inward localities. It is unknown whether the variability has a geographical component, or whether a separate subspecies is involved (G.J. VAN PELT, personal communication). The genus Somatochlora SÉLYS-LONGCHAMPS, 1840 - The only published record of this genus from Albania is a Somatochlora metallica (VANDER LINDEN, 1825) published by PUSCHING (1926). At that time S. meridionalis NIELSEN, 1935 was still undescribed, and the record may belong to this species. Our single male caught at the Lurë lakes belongs to 5. meridionalis, the
