in August (68.96% of all feeding individuals in this month). Plenty of mites in combings (49.41% of all collected individuals in August) were observed also in this month. In summer the stuck individuals of N. sympatrica amounted to 79.39% in the cochlea, 15.94 % in the ano-genital region, and 4.69% in the ventral region. In autumn, the number of larvae increased up to 89.42% in the cochlea. Accordingly, there was a decrease in the number of larvae in the ano-genital region (9.10%) and in the ventral region (1.48%). In summer the almost identical number of feeding individuals and individuals found in combings (50.63 and 49.37%) was recorded; however, in autumn the proportion of the stuck mites was 72.14%. Larvae of N. sympatrica were found on 64 individuals of rodents belonging to 8 species. Mites preferred to feed on the silvery high-mountain vole, reaching the greatest number inside the cochlea (70.51% of the stuck individuals on this rodent). However, N. sympatrica more often chose the edge of the ear on the common vole (48.21%), and the anus of the wood mouse (44.21%). A silvery high-mountain vole had 91.28% of feeding mites in the cochlea, a common vole had 60.71%, but the wood mouse had the greatest quantity of mites in the ano-genital area (61.05%). Inside the cochlea of a single individual of the silvery high-mountain vole N. sympatrica could feed simultaneously with 5 species of 3 genera, and it had a share of 45.16% in this collecting. In total, N. sympatrica coexisted with 16 species of chigger mites belonging to 9 genera. Most frequently, the species coexisted with representatives of its own genus in the cochlea (60.16%), in the ano-genital region (72.73%), and in the ventral region (75.00% of the number of cases of coexistence).
