It was described from the central European region of Russia (Yaroslavl district). I do not know any other record. Fortunately, this is an easily recognisable species by its male genitalia. In the Catalogue of Palaearctic Diptera GERBACHEVSKAYA-PAVLUCHENKO (1986) listed it also with "H" but the source of this record has still been unknown to us, so in the Checklist it was listed as QR (questionable record). Acroceridae Oncodes pallipes (LATREILLE, 1811) - 1 female: Budapest, Ady-liget, Pardosa-ból kelt [reared from], 2002. VI. This is the second record of the species from Hungary. Empididae Clinocera (Kowarzia) bipunctata (HALIDAY, 1833) - 1 male: Kőszegi TK: Kőszeg, Hétforrás, patak fölött, 2006. május IL, leg. PAPP L. & FÖLDVÁRI M. This species together with C. (K.) barbatula MlK, 1880 are known from the Kőszeg Mts (westernmost part of Hungary) only (PAPP 2003). It is important to know that the special fauna of the Hungarian mountain brooks seems stable. Hybotidae Chvalaea sopianae L. PAPP et FÖLDVÁRI, 2001 - 1 female: Kőszegi TK: Kőszeg, Hétforrás, patak fölött, 2006. 07. 25., leg. PAPP L. Sc FÖLDVÁRI M. It was described from the Mecsek Mts; this is its second known locality.
