FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK Volume 68 2007 pp. 105-110. Corrections and additions to the list of Hungarian Lonchaeidae (Diptera) I. MACGOWAN Scottish Natural Heritage, Battleby, Redgorton, Perth, PHI 3EW. E-mail: iain.macgowan@snh.gov.uk Abstract - This paper provides a revision of the Hungarian Lonchaeidae. Forty-three species are recorded from Hungary, six new species are added to the list whilst eight species recorded previously have been re-assessed and are removed. Key words - Diptera, Lonchaeidae, Hungary. INTRODUCTION The Lonchaeidae fauna of Hungary was listed in PAPP (2001) with further additions made by PAPP (2003, 2005). A visit to the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM) in Budapest during September 2006 allowed me to examine the specimens in the collection, both the identified and unidentified material. As a result the list of Lonchaeidae recorded in Hungary has changed considerably due to the discovery of unrecognised species, the critical examination of previously named species, which has revealed mistakes in determinations, and lastly the updating of old species names, which have been synonymised in recent years. One species of Earomyia still remains to be identified. The results of this study are listed below. SPECIES NEW TO THE HUNGARIAN FAUNA Earomyia netherlandica MACGOWAN, 2004 - This species was described recently from specimens found in the Netherlands and in England, until now it has not been recorded from elsewhere in Europe. This is a relatively large Earomyia species, which bears a superficial resemblance
