Male genital armature - ZlANI & GUDENZI (2000). Material examined-Prov. Latakia, Jabal An Nusaynyah, Slunteh, -1100 m, 19.V.2004 (3, CLN). Onthophagus (Palaeonthophagus) marginális GEBLER, 1817, s.l. Type locality - Siberia, Russia. Distribution - South-eastern Europe, Asia Minor, Middle East, Siberia, Northern China (BALTHASAR 1963). Male genital armature - ZlANI & GUDENZI (2001). Material examined - Prov. Damascus, Jabal Lubnan ash Sharqi, Sîrghaya, Wadi Manshoura, -1600 m, 25.V.2004 (1, CLN). Remarks - The taxonomy of the species belonging to the marginális group is still unclear and needs a revision. Onthophagus (Palaeonthophagus) sericatus REITTER, 1893 Type locality - Somkhetiya, Armenia/Georgia. Distribution - Southern Croatia, Albania, Asia Minor, Caucasus, Middle East, Iran (BALTHASAR 1963).
