SPECIES MENTIONED FROM HUNGARY WITHOUT LOCALITY RECORD LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) list the following species and subspecies from Hungary (only noting it with the country code HU), but it is not documented where these species were first cited from Hungary. According to our current knowledge, these were not found within the present borders of Hungary, so their records may derive from either a misunderstanding of old records, or unknown sources: Agonum nigrum (DEJEAN, 1828), Amara infima (DUFTSCHMID, 1812), Amarapulpani KULT, 1949 (=A. makolskii ROUBAL, 1923, A. pseudocommunis BURAKOWSKI, 1957), Amara spreta DEJEAN, 1831, Atranus ruficollis (GAUTIER DES COTTES, 1858) (= A. coliaris (MÉNÉTRJJÉS, 1832)), Bembidion• aspericolle GERMAR, 1829, Bembidion bipunctatum bipunctatum (LINNAEUS, 1761), Bembidion brunnicorne brunnicorne DEJEAN, 1833, Bembidion fulvipes STURM, 1827, Bembidion subcostatum vau NETOLITZKY, 1913 (= B. fallaciosum J. R. SAHLBERG, 1913), Bembidion transsylvanicum BlELZ, 1852, Cephalota chiloleuca (FISCHER VON WALDHEIM, 1820), Cephalota elegáns stigmatophora (FISCHER VON WALDHEIM, 1828), Chlaenius aeneocephalus aeneocephalus DEJEAN, 1826, Chlaenius circumscripta (DUFTSCHMID, 1812), Chlaenius festivus velutinus (DUFTSCHMID, 1812), Chlaenius flavipe s MÉNÉTRIÉS, 1832, Cicindela sylvatica sylvatica LINNAEUS, 1758, Dicheirotrichus desertus (MOTSCHULSKY, 1849), Harpalus neglectus neglectus AUDINET-SERVILLE, 1821, Laemostenus janthinus coeruleus (DEJEAN, 1828), Leistus spinibarbis rufipes CHAUDOIR, 1843, Molops ovipennis ovipennis CHAUDOIR, 1847, Molops robustus robustus (DEJEAN, 1828), NebriafuscipesFuss, 1849, 1833, Ocys harpaloides AUDINET-SERVILLE, 1821, Ocys quinquestriatus berytensis (NETOLITZKY, 1917), Ocys quinquestriatus quinquestriatus (GYLLENHAL, 1810), Ophonus brevicollis (AUDINET-SERVILLE, 1821), Poecilus koyi viaticus (DEJEAN. 1828), Pogonus punctulatus DEJEAN, 1828, Pterostichus brevis brevis (DUFTSCHMID, 1812), Pterostichus pilosus pilosus (HOST, 1789), Sericoda quadripunctata DEGEER, 1774, Zuphium hungaricum J. FRIVALDSZKY, 1877. SKOUPY (2004) arranged all the records from JAN PULPÁN'S collection into a book with distribution maps, accompanied by a CD-ROM, which lists all the label data. The maps show the distribution of the species within the borders of the Czech and Slovak Republics, but a few extralimital specimens housed in the same collection were also used for the maps. Some of these locality records (indicated by dots) clearly refer to specimens collected from within the borders of Hungary, but unfortunately, their label data are omitted from the listing on the CD-ROM. The exact localities, therefore, remain unknown. The species, whose presence is thereby first indicated from Hungary, are listed here, but these records do not satisfy our criteria of a published record:
