While CSIKI (1946) mentioned it only from Transylvania (Romania), the checklists of HORVATOVICH (1993) and ÁDÁM (1996) do not include this species. According to LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) its range covers Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Moldavia, Romania, Turkey (European territory) in Europe; Algeria, Egypt (North Africa); Egypt (Sinai), Turkmenistan in Asia. Dyschirius (Dyschirius) latipennis SEIDLITZ, 1867 - [Csongrád m.,] Makó, Maros, 15. V. 1947, leg. J. HAVELKA & K. KULT (2, CPB), identified by P. BULIRSCH (Prague, Czech Republic); [Csongrád m.,] Makó, Maros-folyó, parti föveny [= riverside sand], 26-29. VI. 1997, leg. P. PAULOVICS (1, HNHM), identified by J. RUDNER (Szeged, Hungary), checked by GY. SZÉL in 2006. - KUTHY (1897) and CSIKI (1946) mentioned it only from some places in Transylvania (Romania). HORVATOVICH (1993), ÁDÁM (1996) and LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) do not mention it from Hungary. According to MÜLLER-MOTZFELD (2004) it is distributed in Italy, the Balkan Peninsula and Slovakia. Harpalus (Harpalus) inexspectatus KATAEV, 1989 (Fig. 13) - Bács-Kiskun m., Kunszentmiklós, szikes legelő [= saline pasture], kövek alól egyelve [= singled from beneath stones], 5. IV. 1975, leg. O. MERKL (1 male, HNHM); [Hajdú-Bihar m.,] Hortobágyi NP. [= National Park], Nagyiván, Zám-puszta, egyelés [= singled], 8. VI. 1976, leg. HÁMORINÉ (1, HNHM). Identified by B. KATAEV (SaintPetersburg, Russia) in 2000. - HORVATOVICH (1993) did not mention this species in his checklist. ÁDÁM (1996) mentioned it in brackets suggesting that it may occur in Hungary. MÜLLER-MOTZFELD (2004) does not consider it as a Central European taxon. The specimen from Kunszentmiklós was previously identified by L. ÁDÁM as H. fuscipalpis, listed under this name in ÁDÁM & MERKL (1986), I revised it as male H. fuscicornis (in 1994). The specimen from Nagyiván was first determined in 1979 by F. HlEKE (Berlin) as H. fuscicornis. According to LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) its range covers the following countries: Armenia, Hungary, Moldavia, Russia (South European Territory), Ukraine in Europe; Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan in Asia.
