Gall (Figs 110-111). Integral leaf gall on Q. brantii, almond-shaped. Galls begin to develop in early March, usually on the end of the leaf blade of young leaves. It is juicy when young, covered with very dense, short, whitish, later brownish, hairs, which form a felt-like surface. The gall develops Figs 103-109.
