first four instars they live together in a caterpillar tent). Most of the current faunistic data are collected from caterpillar observation and breeding. FAUNISTIC DATA The investigated area is situated in the Körös Valley (Békés county, South­eastern Hungary), mostly inside the delta of the confluences of rivers Fehér-Körös (White Körös), Fekete-Körös (Black Körös) and Sebes-Körös (Fast Körös). The town Gyula is found just outside the delta, south of the Fehér-Körös. The first male specimen of Eriogaster lanestris was recorded in March 1992 at a streetlight in Gyula by the author. Eriogaster catax (one male specimen) was first collected by a private light trap in Sarkad-Remete in 1990 (KOVÁCS, unpubl). No further specimens were reported from the material of the forestry light traps operat­ing in the Körös Valley (Gerla, Sarkad-Remete, Gyula-Városerdő) (FAZEKAS 1988, SZABÓKY, pers. comm.) (Fig. 2).
