O. Merkl szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 66. (Budapest, 2005)

Minettia fasciata (FALLÉN, 1826) (syn. M. rivosa (MEIGEN, 1826), published under this name by PAPP 1979) - There are 47 males, 36 females of the former species and 73 males, 86 females of the latter species in the collection of the HNHM from Hungary. They are from all parts of our country. Both are less common in our low mountains than on lowlands, but otherwise no tendency was observed in the locality records. Minettia subvittata (LOEW, 1847) (erroneous synonymization with M. fasciata (FALLÉN, 1826): PAPP 1979, 1984, cf. MERZ 2004) - I found 26 males and 50 females in our collection. Some males may be left among the M. fasciata males (I had no time to dissect the genitalia of all of them), and among the unnamed material of Minettia here. They are from Csévharaszt, Gyón [now part of Dabas], Bugac, Ócsa, Izsák (Kolon-tó), Agasegyháza, Fülöpháza, Kunfehértó, Lakitelek, Nagyhegyes, Tiszafüred, Bátorliget, Kapuvár, Ugod, Almásfüzitő, Zamárdi, Vörs, Tihany, Feketevízpuszta, Horvátkimle, Albertirsa, Budaörs, Pécs (from 8th of June to 28th of August). Nowhere was captured in higher numbers. CHAMAEMYIIDAE Parochthiphila kimmerica TANASIJTSHUK, 1968 - 2 males (one of them severely damaged): KNP: Fülöpháza, 52. út 20. km mellett, virágokról, 2004. 06. 10., leg. FÖLDVÁRI. This beautiful species has peculiar male genitalia. New for the fauna of Hungary. LONCHAEIDAE Lonchaea fraxina MACGOWAN et ROTHERAY, 2000 - 1 male: Budapest, Pestszentlőrinc, Péterhalmi-erdő, erdei út fölött, 1996. IV. 21. - "Lonchaea hirticeps ZETT." det. L. PAPP 2003 "Lonchaea fraxina" Det. I. MACGOWAN 2003 (with gen. prep, in a plastic microvial). The three females (Budapest, Péterhalmi-erdő; Szokolya, Vasfazék-v.; Csévharaszt), which were mentioned under L. hirticeps (PAPP 2003) belong to this species. Now their identification as L. fraxina was based on figs 9-10 of MACGOWAN & ROTHERAY (2000) and figs 3-4 of MACGOWAN (2001), as well as on the pilosity on the disc of their scutellum. L. fraxina is reported here from Hungary for the first time. Lonchaea iona MACGOWAN, 2001 - 1 male: Szokolya, Les-völgyi patak fölött és mellett, 2000. április 24. - "Lonchaea S hirticeps ZETT." det. L. PAPP 2003 - "Lonchaea iona" det. I. MACGOWAN 2003 (with gen. prep, in a plastic microvial). This specimen was identified and recorded as L. hirticeps ZETTERSTEDT, 1837 (PAPP 2003). I am sorry to say now, that I did not know MACGOWAN'S (2001) description of L. iona from Andorra. In the meantime Dr MACGOWAN saw the specimen and he was able to correct my mistake. L. iona is a species new for the Hungarian fauna. Lonchaea tenuicornis KOVALEV, 1978 - 2 males, both with the following label: "Lonchaea tenuicornis Det. I. MacGowan 2003": 1 male: Börzsöny hg., Irtás psz. [puszta], 1971. VI. 24., leg. MIHÁLYI - "Lonchaea S laticornis Meig." det. SOÓS 1976; 1 male: Jasenak Kertész [on the reverse side] "905. V. 30." - "Lonchaea laticornis MEIGEN c?" det. G. MORGE, Ex. 2551. It has not been reported from Hungary formerly {cf. PAPP 2001, 2003). Jasenak is a small village near Ogulin (Croatia), so this is the first record also for Croatia through the courtesy of Dr IAIN MACGOWAN. Dasiops calvus MORGE, 1959- 1 female: Budapest, Pestszentlőrinc, Péterhalmi-erdő, tölgyes, 2004. ápr. 22.; 1 female: D.I.N.P.: Szokolya, Les-v., patakmeder, 2004. 07. 22.; 1 female: Kőszegi
