INTRODUCTION Although a recent revision (Lis 1994) and a catalogue (Lis 1999) are available, our knowledge on the Cydnidae fauna of the Oriental Region is still far from satisfactory. The distribution of numerous species is imperfectly known and any new information is worth publishing. The autors had the opportunity of examining some unidentified cydnid materials deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. The majority of the specimens was collected in the Oriental Region; however, and some additional material from New Guinea - usually considered to belong to the Australian Region - has also been identified. In this paper, the faunistic data of the examined specimens are presented. * Corresponding author.
