FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK Volume 64 2003 pp. 227-235. The history of the Symphyta fauna of the Carpathian Basin (Hymenoptera) - Part V. L. ZOMBORI Abstract: A list of sawflies collected in Transylvania and preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum is given. Presently the list contains the species of Megalodontoidea and the representatives of the families: Argidae, Cimbicidae and Diprionidae of Tenthredinoidea. Key words: Hymenoptera, Symphyta, Megalodontoidea, Argidae, Cimbicidae and Diprionidae of Tenthredinoidea, Transylvania, list of species INTRODUCTION The hereunder presented list of sawfly species comprises all the specimens preserved in the Hymenoptera Collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. The overwhelming majority of the specimens was collected in the past two decades. The locality names are given as they appear on the label, excepting the administrative regions, or county names, which had not been constantly figured on the locality labels of the old collecting, e.g. of the 19th and early 20th century, so these county names are always put between brackets. In enumerating the species I follow the Compendium of Liston (1995), but within the genus the order of the alphabet. Abbreviations used in the subsequent part: érchegység = Erzgebirge, hav. [havasok] = alps, h. [hegy] = mountain, hg./hgys. [hegység] = mountains, m. [megye] = county, n. d. = no collecting date, p./patak = brook, v./völgy = valley.
