(Rohwer & Fagan 1917). However, they can be easily distinguished from the kollari species-group by long and oblique setae on fore tibia. The morphology of the gall is also similar, although other related species, like A. coriarius have showed a great divergence. Apparently, novel gall structures have arisen relatively rapidly and repeatedly during divergence of the Andricus genus (Stone & Cook 1998). So, the globular gall morphology in other species, outside the kollari species-group, probably represents a convergence. On the basis of the adult's morphology, the examined nine species are divided into two groups: the first includes A. kollari, A. hispanicus, A. caliciformis, A. lignicolus, A. sternlichti and A. infectorius - all inducing distinctly globular galls, with high similarity of morphological characters, and a second, more diversified group, which includes A. galeatus, A. amblycerus, A. aries and A. corruptrix. In this second species group we can see at least three different gall models, the morphological characters are more diverse, and thus these species can be more easily separated. The species separation in this last group is probably older. Acknowledgements - We are deeply indebted to Dr S. Schödl (NHMW, Vienna) Dr K. Schneider (MLU, Halle-Wittenberg), Dr F.
