cence (Fig. 5). Head without carina, shining, densely and finely punctured with shining interspaces. Clypeal emargination 1/3 times as deep as its median length. Pronotum, propleuron, mesonotum and mesoscutellum shining, densely, shal­lowly and minutely punctured. Mesopleuron roughly, deeply but only moderately densely punctured. Postscutellum smooth and shining. Mesoscutellar appendage very finely, shallowly and densely punctured. Claw in Fig. 12. First and second ab­dominal tergites smooth and shining. Other tergites with very fine, granulated sculpture. Holotype: 1 female, "Brunei, IX. 1982, N. Stork". The holotype is deposited in the collection of The Natural History Museum, London. The new species runs to Athlophorus capreae Forsius, 1936 but the new spe­cies has slightly convex mesoscutellum, apical antennái segments yellow and 2 wide yellow bands on the temples. On the other hand, A. capreae Forsius, 1936 has scutellum elevated into a thorn like tip, apical antennái segments black, no yellow band on the temples. Athlophorus nigrojavanus sp. n. (Fig. 4) Head black; yellow: clypeus, labrum, spots on mandibles, wide inner and outer orbits, supraclypeal spot and 1-1 supraantennal spot. Yellow outer orbits continued in reddish brown bands on temples. Antennae black. Scapus, pedicellus and underside of third antennái segment yellow. Postocellar area with three longi­tudinal rusty lines. Thorax black; yellow: narrow margin around pronotum, tegulae, small longi­tudinal spot on hind comer of middle mesonotal lobes, two other small lines next to this spot on the neighbouring side of lateral lobes, mesoscutellum, 1-1 small spot below cenchri, two small spots next to mesoscutellum, narrow horizontal margin of postnotum on the level of postscutellum, cenchri and the narrow hind border of the sunken area of mesonotum. Coxae black with whitish yellow outer surface. Fore trochanters black. Middle and hind trochanters whitish yellow. Femora dark blackish brown. Fore tibiae yellow, outside with small apical dark spot. Middle tib­iae yellow, apical half of its outer surface dark (brownish). Hind tibiae black, basal quarter whitish yellow. Basitarsi yellow, other tarsal segments dark (brownish). Wings hyaline. Both radial cells and the surrounding parts of the cubital cells with strong and rusty infuscation. Stigma and costa reddish brown. Subcosta black. First abdominal tergite black with a triangular yellow spot above the membranous
