FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK Volume 63 2002 pp. 87-103. Sawflies from the Indomalay Islands (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) A. HARIS Abstract: Eleven Tenthredinidae species described from Java, Sumatra and Borneo: Athlophorus flavocapreae sp. n.; A. nigrojavanus sp. n.; Emphytus metallocyaneus sp. n.; Amonophadnus nigrojavanus sp. n.; Neostromboceros nigrojavanus; N. prianganensis sp. n.; N. marbauensis sp. n., N. groenandeli sp. n.; N. sabahiensis sp. n.; Heptamelus sipitangensis sp. n. and Nesoselandria nigroalata sp. n. Key words: Indomalaysia, Tenthredinidae, new species Ninety eight species and subspecies of Tenthredinidae are known from the islands of the Indomalay region and its surroundings: Java, Borneo, Sumatra, Philippines, New Guinea etc. Most of them are endemic species, according to our recent knowledge. Only six species live on the continental region of South-East Asia. In this region, the Selandriinae species are dominant, 75%. Only three Tenthredinidae and 1 Nematinae species are known. No Dolerinae species has found in this region. The sawfly fauna is rich in Neostromboceros Rohwer, 1912 and Athlophorus Burmeister, 1847 species. The Neostromboceros species are very special here compared to their Indian relatives: they have very short cerci as it is shown in Figs 1, 2 and 11. Most of the Selandriinae species has been revised by Malaise (1944, 1947) but the Blennocampinae species still need revision. In the end of this paper, there is a list of the known and the new Tenthredinidae species of this region. LIST OF SPECIES SELANDRIINAE Athlophorus klugii ssp. javanus Enslin, 1912 - Nederlands Indiae: W. Java, 1800 ft., Djampang Tengah, 18.06.1939, 1 female.
