TAXONOMIC PART Heteroconis editae sp. n. (Figs 1-3) Holotype - Male: "Thailand, Prov. Prachin Buri, Sakaerat Forest, dry deciduous forest, 14-17.VI.2001, beating from shrubs, 1.: E. Horváth, Gy. Sziráki". Deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Description - Head without corniform projection. Occiput and frons light ochreous, clypeus, face and the head capsule behind the eyes medium brown. Eyes small, black. Maxillary palpi medium brown, labial palpi light ochreous. Antennae 18-segmented, 1.0 mm long. Scape large, swollen, about three times as long as broad, light brown with a heavily sclerotized pit on the innern side. Pedicel two times as long as broad. Most of the flagellar segments about 1.5 times as long as wide, but the first and second are short, having two spines on protruding base (Fig. 1). Pedicel and the three basal flagellar segments white, the others dark brown. Thorax, abdomen and legs light brown. Length of fore wing: 2.1 mm, of hind wing: 1.9 mm. Membrane of both wings unicolorous light brown. Basal cross veins Rs-M and M-Cuj of fore wing meet M between the median thickenings. Male genitalia as in Figs 2-3: Ectoproct small, in lateral view rounded conical. Ninth stemite small, rhomboid, with a long caudal projection. End of this projection curving up and forked. Hypandrium situated above the ninth sternite, and has a proximal and a distal branch; both branches bifurcate below the penis. Gonocoxite thin, long, basally connected to the hypandrium, bearing a ventral process caudally. Distal end of the two gonocoxites are connected to each other with a well sclerotized, but narrow subanal plate. Penis short and stout, its end sharply curving downwards and forewards. Basal and dorso-lateral apodemes of penis well developed. Stylus long and bifurcated. The stem, and especially the lower branch of this organ armed with strong setae, while the upper branch serrated, pointed and curving inwards. The two styli are connected with a wide belt near to the middle of their stem, while at the base there is a small setose knob. Remarks - Heteroconis editae is far from any other described species of the genus. Because of the unicolorous wing membrane, the position of basal cross veins Rs-M and M-Cuj and the absence of a corniform projection on the head it seems to be in the same group as most of the other Asian species. On the other hand, because of the presence of strong spines on some flagellar segments of the male antennae, the long and forked projection of ninth stemite as well as the similarity in the shape of gonocoxite in male genitalia, it resembles somewhat the Australian Heteroconis nigripennis Meinander, 1969.
