Wéber 1975a: 161, 1976: 27), but it is not E. lamellicornis, thus E. simulium (the senior synonym of E. lamellicornis) will be deleted from the Hungarian species list. Empis (Empis) nigritibialis Strobl, 1898 — 1 male: Bükk-hg. [mountains], Nagyvisnyó, 1957. VI. 3, leg. Tóth S. - Wéber identified this specimen as E. pseudo­malleola (cf. Wéber 1975a: 159, 1976: 29), which proved to be a misidentification, thus E. pseudomalleola will be deleted from the Hungarian species list (cf. E. procera). Empis (Empis) pilosa Loew, 1867 — 1 male and 1 female: Csákvár, Hajdúvágás, 1951. IV. 25, leg. Zsirkó. - Wéber identified these specimens as E. nigricoma (cf. Wéber 1976: 24), which proved to be a misidentification, thus E. nigricoma will be deleted from the Hungarian species list and E. pilosa is reported here for the first time from Hungary. Empis (Empis) procera Loew, 1873 — 1 male: Bükk-hg, 1958. V 13, Tardi-patak völgye, erdő [valley, forest], vizenyős terület [wet area], leg, Tóth S.; 3 males: ibid, V. 11.; 1 male: Jósvafő, erdő, 1963. VI. 4, leg. Mihályi; 1 male: Pécs, Dömörkapu, 1959. V. 8, Dr. Wéber; 1 male: Jósvafő, erdőszél [border of a forest], 1963. VI. 6, leg. Mihályi; 1 male: Mecsck-hegys. [mountains], Zobák p. Fes. [light trap], 1964. V. 9, Dr. Wéber. — Wéber identified these specimens as E. pseudomalleola (cf. Wéber 1975a: 159, 1976: 29), which proved to be a misidentification, thus E. pseudomalleola will be delet­ed from the Hungarian species list (cf. E. nigritibialis) and E. procera is reported here for the first time from Hungary. Empis (Empis) sp. — 1 female: Bükk-hg, 1959. IV. 12, Tardi-patak völgye [valley], leg. Tóth S.; 1 male: Bükk-hg, Kissom, rét [meadow], 1958. V. 11, leg. Reskovits. ­These two specimens represent two distinct species, but their identity cannot be estab­lished due to their poor condition. Weber identified these specimens as E. filata (cf. Wéber 1975a: 168, 1976: 27), but they are not E.fdata, thus the species will be deleted from the Hungarian species list. Empis (Empis) staegeri Collin, 1963 — 25 males and 16 females: Pécs, Misina, 26-27. 5. 1964, leg. Chvála (CUP). - New species to Flungary. Empis (Empis) tanysphyra Loew, 1873 — 11 males: Nagykovácsi, Remetehegy, 1957. IV. 25, leg. Mihályi; 3 male: Dobogókő, 1957. V. 14, leg. Mihályi, Zsirkó; 3 male: Tard, Sugaró, erdő [forest], 1958. V. 12, leg. Tóth S.; 1 male: Hu. Keszthely, 1955. V. 13, leg. Dr. Jermy; 1 male: Bakonybél, Gerence-v, erdő [valley, forest], 1960. V. 20, leg. Mihályi; 1 male: Dobogókő, 1957. IV. 29, leg Soós A.; 2 males: Fót, Somlyó-h, 1960. V. 4, leg. Zsirkó (all det. M. Földvári, 2001). - Wéber identified these specimens as E. maerens (cf. Wéber 1975a: 165, 1976: 27), which proved to be a misidentification, thus E. maerens will be deleted from the Hungarian species list and E. tanysphyra is reported here for the first time from Hungary. Empis (Leptempis) confusa Loew, 1865 — 1 male: Csákvár, Hajdúvágás, 1961. IV. 25, leg. Zsirkó; 1 female: Hu. Keszthely, 1955. V. 13, leg. dr. Jermy; 1 male: Bükk­hegys. [mountains], Tard, Tardi patak-v. [valley], 1958. V. 13, leg Tóth S.; 1 male: Fót, Somlyó-h. [hill], 1960. VI. 1, leg. Mihályi. - There are altogether 119 specimens in the FTNHM from Pusztavám, Csévharaszt, Pécs, Budapest, Máriagyüd, Bakonyszűcs, Bakonygyepes, Budafa, Tettye, Kám, Felnémet, Bak, Harkány, Szentlőrinc, Tata, Tihany, Pusztavacs and several localities from the Pilis, Bakony and Vértes mountains. Weber identified these specimens as E. maculata (cf. Wéber 1963: 300, 1975a: 154, 1976: 24), which proved to be a misidentification. Based on these results it is probable
