ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LXII 2001 pp. 205-208 New records of Trichoceridae from Hungary (Diptera) E. jKrzemiriska New records of Trichoceridae from Hungary (Diptera) — Fifteen species of Trichoceridae are reported from Hungary, thirteen are regarded as new for the Hungarian fauna. Key words: Trichoceridae, new records, Hungary. The genus Trichocera Meigen is separated into two subgenera, Trichocera and Metatrichocera Dahl, 1966; a new definition for both was given recently by Star (1998) and this distinction followed herein. As a preparatory work for the "Checklist of the Diptera of Hungary" (Papp et al. 2001) more than 1000 specimens of Hungarian Trichoceridae were identified. Formerly only four species were recorded from Hungary but only two of them (7^ hiemalis, T. regelationis) can be accepted as reliable (see Krzemihska & Papp 2001). Of the 44 European species, 15 are now found in Hungary; 13 of them are new for the Hungarian fauna. Most remarkable is the presence of T. ticina at Pellérd in a boggy meadow (vicinity of Pécs). This species was known until now only from the Alps (Stary & Podenas 1995). The formerly unknown female of T. ticina was distinguished in this material. T. rufulenta appears to be one of most common species of Hungary, and it occurs in many variable habitats. It is remarkable that T. calva Stary, 1999, newly described from Tatra Mts and Bieszczady Mts (east Carpathians) is apparently common in Hungary and occurs not only in montains but also in lowland habitats.
