propodeal carinae typical for "Platygaster-c\uster" (Austin & Field 1997). P. huggerti runs to P. filicaudis Fouts, 1925 in MacGown's unpublished key to Platygaster of the United States, but filicaudis (only male known) differs from huggerti e.g. in having notauli complete, and scutellum and metasoma differently sculptured than in huggerti, cf. also Fouts (1925). Platygaster tenerifensis sp. n. (Figs 34-37) Female — Length: 1.2-1.4 mm. Colour brownish black, antennae and legs light brown, flagellum dark brown. Head from above (Fig. 34) 2.0 times as wide as long, fully 1.1 times as wide as tho­rax; occiput margined, finely transversely striated; vertex finely transversely reticulate; frons smooth. OOL:POL:LOL = 3:8:4. Head from in front slightly wider than high (13:12). Antennae (Fig. 35) with A 1 shorter than height of head (5:6). Mesosoma 1.4 times as long as wide, fully 1.1 times as high as wide. Sides of prono­tum smooth, anteriorly with faint longitudinal microsculpture. Mesoscutum smooth, Figs 34-37.
