Venter: Labium 58 um long, with strong spiniform setae. Stylet loop three times longer than labium. Legs: 1st - coxa 102 pm long, trochanter-femur fused, 166, tibiatarsus not divided, 163 pm long, claw 30, claw digitules spiniform, 2nd - coxa 102 pm long, trochanter-femur 176, tibia-tarsus 163, claw 30, claw digitules 10 pm long, 3rd coxa 112 pm long, trochanter-femur 192, tibia-tarsus 176 pm long, claw 30, with spiniform setae, 10 pm long. Legs covered with hair-, spine-like, and fimbriate setae (some of them wide brush-like-broad fimbriate), 26-36 pm long, with clavate sensory setae near tibial sensorium of legs; trochanter with two sensory pores on each surface. Thoracic spiracles (which should be on the venter) (exsertiles sensu Richard 1986) situated on the dorsum, 23 pm long, Broad fimbriate setae, scattered in medial areas of thorax, and presented in rows on the abdominal segments, and some spiniform setae are behind vulva. Bilocular pores 4 pm long. Quadriloculars and simple pores absent. Tubular ducts absent. First two abdominal spiracles also present, situated on the dorsum (which should be on the venter). Dorsum: Four-five broad fimbriate setae are at margin of each segment, 65 pm long. On the middle of the segments three pairs of broad fimbriate setae, the longest is 126 pm. The setae groups are on a sclerotized plate. Sclerotized plates situated all over the body. Some broad clavate setae scattered on the dorsum. Anal ring developed, with six anal ring setae, 91 pm long. Bilocular pores 4 pm long, scattered on the dorsum. Quadrilocular, simple pores, tubular ducts absent. Derivatio nominis — The genus is named after Dr. Sándor Mahunka, the collector of several new scale insect species in different parts of the world. Comments — M. mexicoensis differs from all other known species by having undivided tibia and tarsus, high number of broad fimbriate setae on the dorsum situated on sclerotized plates. Baloghicoccus Kozár, gen. n. Type species: Baloghicoccus costaricaensis sp. n. This genus differs from others by the absence of sclerotized plates on the body and by the not fused tibia and tarsus. Baloghicoccus costaricaensis sp. n. (Fig. 2) Material examined — Holotype: female, Costa Rica, Arenal, 16. 01. 1993. Leg. J. Balogh, No. 104, CR 93, from forest litter. Description of adult female — Mounted specimen (Fig. 2): Holotype, adult female 0.96 mm long, 0.56 mm wide. Antennae 3-segmented, 1st segment 36 pm long, 2nd segment 36 pm long, with a sensory pore, apical segment 88 pm long, with fimbriate setae on all segments, apical segment, with three sensory setae 16-22 pm long, apical seta 84 pm long, with one short subapical seta 6 pm long. Venter: Labium 42 pm long, with strong spiniform setae. Stylet loop three times longer than labium. Legs: 1st - coxa 58 pm long, trochanter-femur fused, 144 pm long, tibia-tarsus divided, 115 pm long, claw 23 pm long, claw digitules setiform, 2nd - coxa 58 pm long, trochanter-femur 160 pm long, tibia-tarsus 122 pm long, claw 24 pm long, claw digitules 8 pm long, 3rd - coxa 60 pm long, trochanter-femur 182 pm long, tibiatarsus 134 pm long, claw 26, with hairlike setae, 8 pm long.
